From Sr. Support to DevOps!

I joined Public Storage in 2022 as a Sr. Tech supporting over 3,300 properties nationwide.

As a Sr.Tech my day-to-day support involved onboarding employees in AD, managing PC deployments, and responding to incidents. With a strong foundation in automation, I built powershell scripts using Microsoft’s Graph API to improve our onboarding process and led the team in building and managing pc deployments with Microsoft’s Deployment toolkit and PDQ Deploy.

Earning a certification in Azure’s Administrator Associate, I began learning and investing heavily into Cloud technologies and DevOps practices. I could see my work evolving through countless hours of automating operations as much as possible and In mid-2023 my efforts led me to an internal promotion to DevOps Engineer!

I hardened my automation skills and quickly contributed to Jenkins CICD pipelines; one for Mulesoft and another for a React Native mobile app. Being a cross-functional team I helped lead and cultivate an “automation first” mindset that was formally recognized and awarded by executive leadership. I managed our IIS Servers, leveraging Datadog to scrape metrics and provide improved MTTRs and Observability. In collaboration with our Cloud Operations team, I streamlined IaC practices and optimized server configurations and documentation for Linux and Windows servers.
